I had a major turning point in my life last night.
It occurred at the beginning of the math education club meeting last night.
The fact that I was at the math education club meeting should be enough of a shock.
But I am now also the vice president of the club.
Yes, me, the math hater, is the vice president of a math club.
I'm wondering when I fell and hit my head. I must have been a hard fall, because I don't remember it.
Okay, really the only reason I volunteered for the position is because no one else was, and I don't really have to do anything, other than fill in for the president should she happen to be absent.
Plus, I figured it would look good in my portfolio.
Plus, my amazing methods in math professor is sort of changing my mind about math. She actually makes math fun, and cool. So cool you will want to do it all day!
Me, wanting to do math all day.
Something is really, really wrong with me!

You will find this happens often in teaching. I used to hate science in high school and I find myself fighting to get it into the day for the kids becuase I know they love it. There are a lot of things you do in teaching you thought you'd never do haha.
Maybe you are coming down with something. You know the flu is going around, eh?
I think it is great that you are taking risks and stretching those comfort zone boundaries. I, too, had a wonderful math education teacher who inspired me to not be so afraid of teaching math.
I hope your head is doing better, but I hope you never recover from the fall! : ) I'm going to drop you a note, because your blog resonates with me and one of my students (my almost 10 year old beauty). Must follow!
